My cat was staring out the window at her worst enemy. It didn’t matter to her that she was safe and warm inside the house with me. She took a crouched ready to pounce position ready to attack. My advice to her, whether she understood me or not, was to focus on the ones who did love her not on the one who didn’t. As humans, we do much the same thing by focusing on rejections, failures, and hurtful words. We all have these things but believe it or not, we also have acceptance, victories and words of comfort and cheer. How often do we focus on the hurt and hate instead of the love and acceptance offered to us by others and by God. Let’s determine to remember Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. KJV  Good advice in the first century AD and for us today.
