I had a painful argument with my husband and wrote this poem to remind the world, and myself, that God knows the painful things.
My God will be with me
Every day forever more
My God will be with me
Whether I am happy or sad
My God will be with me
I am alone never more
My God will be with me
He will not leave me
Forsake me, He will never do
My God is with me
Whenever I’m blue
He always is with me
And tender His care
My God, He loves me
I shall not despair
No matter how dismal
Or dark the day
I know He is with me
He shares my joy
When nobody knows
He grieves with me
When sorrows show
He loves me forever
And ever and a day
My Jesus will take me,
Take me home some day
Whether I am happy
Or lonely or joyous or glad
My God knows
My God knows
He will never
Give me burdens
Too hard to bare
He loves me
He leads me
He is always right there
So join me to trust Him
Along life’s way
In victory we’ll meet Him
In the sky one day
We always can trust Him
Forever and a day
Because I can trust Him
I shall ever obey
Jesus is worthy
Of my praises today.
