Genesis 12:1 The LORD had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you. NLT
The day I got my dog, Blessing, there was a terrific Sunday morning service. Church was beautiful. Holy Spirit moved. Life was good. But in the evening service, everything changed. It was as if I were seeing everything from a distance. I felt cut off from the people. I felt like a stranger observing. One who didn’t belong.
And God said: This is your last time at this church. If you come here again, I will not be with you.
Why would He say something like that? Weren’t we supposed to be in our church our whole lives as Dad, Grandpa, and Uncle Delbert had been? I loved my church. I was confused, distraught, and broken hearted.
I missed a couple of services, and then went back, but just as God had said, Holy Spirit was not with me in a manifest way. He was there, of course. He will never leave me nor forsake me as the Word says, but He made it clear my time at this church had ended. And life IS good when the Christ is in it. Bless you as you follow Him. Shalom.
